Another great product from Gaiam. I just love these guys. This is a premium mat, that is made from advanced materials designed for heavy duty performance. I had the opportunity to test this mat in a few Ashtanga classes and I was very satisfied. A little on a heavier side, this mat is very pretty and pleasing to practice on. The thickness and weight are enough to prevent slipping and bunching and the surface was very dry and stable throughout practice. A very worthy mat to consider, especially knowing Gaiam who constantly discontinue products and introduce new ones. This is a truly unique mat. The extra thickness in this case is an added bonus, making the mat’s surface feel very luxurious.

When I opened the package I noticed a strong smell of rubber and god-knows-what. After a few days of airing out on a balcony the smell subsided enough for me to use the mat. I took this Chai yoga mat to class where I practice three times a week. I used this mat for 4 months now – I have no complaints other than the weight, it’s slightly heavier than my previous PVC mat. The material looks very professional and feels extremely durable. I have confidence in this yoga mat.
